From Central Wire Industries President and CEO Paul From:

As I reach the end of my in-depth review of the profiled wire options in Central Wire UK’s Rotherham location, I stop to consider the largest advantage partnering with us offers our customers- our wide variety of alloys.

I’ve mentioned that our products are thoroughly tested to ensure accordance with quality and performance standards, many of which are driven by the complex applications our products are used for. But before we ensure we ship what was ordered, we’ve worked with customers’ engineers and metallurgists to select specialized alloys from our extensive global inventories to counter the chemical, temperature, and physical stresses in the final application.

alloys

To reiterate, we stock and manufacture profiled wire in a wide range of material alloys- stainless steels, duplex steels, nickel alloys, copper, brass and some carbon steels. Today I will take some time to review the main alloy families in which we have focused much of our innovative efforts- stainless steels, nickels and specialty alloys.

Stainless Steel

Our most common alloys include: 302S (Euro: 1.4310), 302HQ (Euro:1.4567), 304 (EURO: 1.4301), 304L, 304VM, 305, 309, 310, 316, 316L, 316LVM, 316Ti, 317, 317L, 321, 347, 409, 409CB, 410, 420, 416, 420, 430, 431, 434, 439, 440C, 446, 17-7 PH (631), A286, 904L, Duplex 2205, Nitronic® 32, Nitronic® 50, and Nitronic® 60. These stainless steel alloys range from austenitic, martensitic and ferritic grades and are made in accordance with various specifications.

Nickel

Customers frequently choose nickel wire made from: Monel® 400, Monel® K500, Inconel® 600, Inconel® 601, Inconel® 625, Inconel® 718, Incoloy® 800, Incoloy® 825, Nickel 200, Nickel 201, Nickel 205, Nickel 211, Alloy 20 (20Cb3), C276, 330, 35-19Cb, and Invar36. These offer temperature and corrosion resistance in a wide variety of media.

Specialty Alloys

Central Wire is proud to offer specialty alloys like X-750, Hastelloy X®, L605, and MP35N®. These materials withstand temperatures up to 816°C, corrosive and highly oxidized environments. More alloys are available on request.

Our three main alloy families are available in standard and custom-shaped profiled wire in diameters from 1.25mm2 to 150mm2 (0.049”2 to 5.90”2) CSA (Cross Sectional Area.) I am so proud of our CWI UK staff for their continued dedication to the profiled wire lines. We continue to position Central Wire Industries as an industry expert due to their intense understanding of profiled wire applications.
